The way the courts see it, if you are mature enough to support yourself, then you should be mature enough to go to the courthouse and file a Motion for Emancipation. You will be given a court date, and will be expected to prove to the court that you are able to live on your own, without financial support from your parents/family. You will have to do this by filling out a financial report, that shows your expenses/overhead (such as an expected rent, utilities, etc.) and showing pay stubs that show how you will meet your living expenses. Simply getting a letter from your parents is not good enough. Your emancipation has to be formally granted by a court. This is to protect your parents from being sued by anyone you may do wrong to (a car accident, an eviction, etc.) after you have left your parent's home. In most cases, parents are still legally responsible for damages incurred by their minor child - unless there is an official court order that states the minor child is no longer under the jurisdiction of the parents. The court order is more for the protection of your parents than anything else.

Bear in mind that many landlords will not rent to a minor without a credit history, and many utilities will not establish accounts for minors, either.

I don't mean to presume I know what life is like for you in your parent's home, but I do suggest you think long and hard about moving out so young. Life is tough out there, kiddo. My advice is to stay in school, get an after school job, and save every penny you possibly can to be really prepared to move out when you turn 18. Going to school and working will keep you away from whatever it is you are trying to avoid for most of the hours of a day. If things at home are abusive, speak to your school's guidance counselor and social worker about getting into a counseling program. It is far better to address issues head on than it is to try and avoid them. Things have a "funny" way of following you for a long time. Good luck to you, sweetie. You're going to need it.

I don't know what your family situation is ( are you being abuse any any way you can get help now). but if you have a great family try to work things out. the world is cold and mean trust me you are not ready for it. where will you live (with friends that are also 16 with low paying jobs) what will you eat ( the food that is left over from the fast food restaurant in which you now have to work because to dropped out of school) who will by your clothing, you cant because the $5.75 that you make and hour does not pay your portion of the bills. please i urge yo you think about this, try to work things out with your family being a teenager is a hard time this is a age where you are trying to find where you fit in because you are too old to be a child and too young to be and adult. just hang in there and make the best of what you have now. once you try you may see that it is not as bad as you think. you have two years when you are 18 then you can freely go on your own. please i beg you if you are not being abused don't try to leave NO ONE WILL LOVE YOU THE WAY A PARENT LOVES A CHILD. rules may be hard to follow just remember that set guidelines for you because they LOVE YOU. THINK BEFORE YOU JUMP.

Because your not legal yet. And what would be your reason for wanting to move out? You are not happy with the rules your parents have set? You think that you are a big girl and can take of yourself? First instead of wondering how to get out, find out what is wrong with you and fix yourself.

Call legal aid....talk to a councilor at school. IN TX you can declare yourself an emancipated juvenile at 16 and be responsible for yourself....I advise talking this out with a trusted adult in your life.

You want emancipation. You will have to prove to the courts that you will be financially responsible and mature enough in the courts eyes.. Or you can get your parents permission

it depends on the state in which you live. Where im from you can walk out the door at sixteen, in other states you have to be emancipated by a judge.

It depends on your state's laws. In Ohio, you have to prove to the court that you are already fulfilling adult responsibilities and fully supporting yourself, regardless of whether your parents/guardians agree.
