What is the best way to wash a fleece blanket? I am somewhat afraid I will throw it in the wash and the stitching around the edges will fall apart...

I can't go to the store and ask. I got it as a gift for Christmas... then my dog decided to adopt it, and now it is starting to smell funky. I just want to wash it without destroying it because it is a pretty nice blanket!

I LOVE fleece blankets. I have 4 that I use daily and that my pets use. I just throw them in the washer. Make sure to put a lot of fabric softener in it when it is time or else they tend to get rough and kind of itchy. The softener makes them SOOOO soft!!

My cats use my fleece blankets all the time. I simply put them in the washer with a little detergent and haven't had any problems yet.

Using the gentle cycle helps too.

I wash them in the machine on delicate cycle. Dry on low heat with a fabric softener sheet.
