Kochia, or burning bush. it can be an annual in any zone. be careful tho, cuz it can self seed and become a noxious weed. in fact, its illegal to plant in some areas, so check with your municipality first.

It is listed in many seed catalogues as "Mexican fire bush". Good luck!

I don't think it's fire bush. Maybe he means burning bush. I live in the midwest and it's a perennial.
