The Worlds most Intelligent people?

With so many SMART INTELLIGENT people in the world, do you think that if everyone stopped fighting with one another, that MAYBE we might be able to cure disease, hunger, homlessness, I mean we are the most intelligent things on this planet that can actually do the things we put our minds to...... So, Why don't we?

Human capabilities are limited. The Earth can only support so many of us. I don't think that we have reached that number yet, but the present culture of humanity is not sustainable.

There are countries where no one starves and everyone has a home. This is because the government has a lot of natural resources and distributes them more equitable than the US government has managed to do in the US. Norway, Iceland, the Netherlands and most of Scandinavia have eliminated homelessness and hunger and have free health care for all.

It can be done, because it has been done. Doing it means that a few wealthy individuals will have to do with a bit less. Donald Trump might not be able to afford a fourth or fifth apartment, for example.

What an injustice that might be!

Methinks because we act Intelligent, we don't realize how dumb we really are. Homelessness in America could be solved, but who is going to put out the money? Rich people? Somebody who has BILLIONS of dollars? Getting real charity out of a rich person is practically like asking the bank to loan you money in good faith. Come on, most rich folk do abuse charity (Think Tax Write-off) for their own being than the actual purpose. The tax-payers are usually stuck with stadiums, convention centers, and others of that nature. And we seem to be curing remedial things like "Penis problems and Lower cholesterol" at this time. They've been trying to cure cancer ever since I WAS BORN. Now HUNGER, there seems to be something amiss. There was "Live-Aid" and other benefitial concerts producing millions and millions of dollars ("We are the world..." Album. "Hear n' Aid" album. These are from the 80's.) But for some strange reason, they're still starving. Maybe the organizations that were founded on some of this money could be held accountable? Methinks if we could dissway ourselves on how we look at money, we could learn the right way to use it.

So you cure hunger poverty and disease. Then everyone in Africa south America India china etc > Will all want TV`s car`s microwaves computers heating systems for their homes cooker`s. If everyone wanted to live like a typical Canadian, the world would have to be 5 time`s the size it is now and that's today. the way we use resources. The human race would be extinct within a decade

You are right. So much human energy is misdirected. With so many people trying to survive, I guess things get messy. Some of us think we need TV and video games to survive. Some of us are working 80 hours a week to feed our families. Some humans are living naked on a mountain side waiting for it to get better or to be over. We aren't quite intelligent enough to say why the world is in the state that it's in, but we can all try to be better people and to help each other out as best as we can. Each individual should try to contribute in the way that they can, for the betterment of humankind.

Because everyone's human nature is to be better than everyone else. Basically everyone is selfish in one way or another. Why do people fight? BECAUSE SOMEONE WANTS SOMEONE ELSE HAS. Why do we have hunger and homlessness? BECAUSE NO ONE WILL TRUELY SHARE THEIR ENTIRE LIFE WITH THE HOMELESS AND NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO SHARE THEIR FOOD. Why do we have disease? Depends on what you think on this one. But basically, unless it helps the person who is helping directly, the person doesn't want to help.
