I haven't heard any doctors say it's terrible. As we all know it causes long-term term damage in moderate+ quantities, and it can kill us in the short-term with really large quantities. Many people enjoy alcohol, so why not keep it as a pleasure rather than a killer?

If you need a drug to take your mind off of the world and life, then yes.
If you want to be aware of everything without some foreign substance altering your sensations, than no.
alcohol is impairing.

enjoy yourself, but don't let it control you. be certain that alcoholism doesn't run in in your family. or you'll be sorry

Come to the hospital and see for yourself all the people who are dying from alchohol and it's long term affects it has on ones liver, body and mental state. These people all once thought that alchohol was great too. Always drink in moderation

Alcohol is a poison which is why we have to trick our bodies into accepting it by adding tonic, lime, lemonade etc.If you were to drink neat alcohol your body would reject it by puking.Alcoholics' bodies get used to it but their livers soon pack up.Alcohol in moderation is OK but in excess WILL damage your liver...you have only one...ask George Best...oh,no you can't can you...he's dead.
