Not sure why people are assuming that a "friendly wager" is for nothing tangible. Without knowing what was bet, I'd have to say that if a bet was made and accepted and you both didn't agree to cancel it before game time, then it's a binding bet. Friendly wagers have been around forever, even between politician's - try looking it up on wikipedia. As far as suing goes, it must be a welsher that made that comment because I can't see any honorable person saying that...

Yes...I bet small on the football game last weekend but when I lost, I paid up...it paid off because today I won $200 in the playoff pool!! :)
