Active transport is diffision of nutrients through a partly-permeabale membrane. Its must require energy or go against the concentration gradient to be considered ACTIVE transport. Ex: 1. The Sodium-Potassium pump 2. The Proton pump (in plants, fungi, bacteria) 3. Bulk transportation (across the plasma membrane)
