Trying to ascertain proper placement of a console/evaporative humidifier in my home. Top floor or bottom floor .... not sure where it would be best suited. Thanks !!!

Humid air is air with a lot of water vapour not condensed water. Water vapour is a gas that is lighter than air so humid air is lighter than dry air. It might feel heavier but it isn't.
Heat does not rise, nor does cold sink. Denser air sinks replacing less dense air. Very often cold air is denser than warm air so it sinks but it is a question of density not temperature.
Warm humid air is usually less dense than the surrounding colder air so it will rise.

reasons why its less warm once you get closer to the sunlight,ie, you're at a greater physically powerful altitude is that simply by fact the air over there includes much less quantity of suspended debris which skill the air over there is lighter than the air at decrease altitudes. the temperature at a place relies upon on how lots warmth is trapped by using the debris suspended interior the air which in turn relies upon on the amt of suspended debris. this has no longer something to do with the area from the sunlight.

Humid air is more saturated with water and is heavier that unsturated air - so it will sink.

humidity is condensed water in the air. is h2o heavier than air? sometimes, sometimes not, but with condensed water, it's a combination of water molecules "stuck" together by adhesion, so it would in turn be heavier than the air molecules. my suggestion would be to put it on the bottom floor
