I've made an appointment with the doctor - because she's in so much pain.

It's the inside of both thighs - & she finds it hard to walk. Having to put pressure on her legs. Poor thing .lol.

Given her painkillers - done nothing.
What else can i do - until i take her to the doctor ??
She's been in tears & can't really sleep, because it hurts

Taking her to the doctor isn't neccessary. They won't be able to do anything and they're going to tell you what you already know: "They're growing pains"

Try putting heating pads on her thighs or letting her take a warm bath.

yes im a boy so i had that in the groin area and in both legs before it does not feel good at all i recommend getting her some good pain relievers maybe a shot will do but im not sure yes heat works wonders so if you have a heating pad anywhere just have her sit on it or place it anywhere becuase like i said when i had those pains in the groin i tore a muscle trying to walk so think of that! I say just let her lay up and rest.

My friend had a similarproblem with her daughter at that age (i.e., complaints of leg pain and stomach pain). And her pediatriciansaid it was growing pains, from the bones and muscles growing so quickly. However, if she seems to have pain everyday I would ABSOLUTELY have her check out just to be safe. Good luck.

Try to take painkillers as soon as it starts to hurt.

Have her eat more potasium (bannanas, orange juice, gatorade)

Take baths or use heating pads

Drink quinine wich is in tonic water. it tastes terrible but it can help. mix it in with something.

Massage her legs for her.

I have had growing pains for years and I know it sucks. Also see if any shoes make it worse or if the pain is concentrated in one area and the pain spreads like my pain is really only in one part of my knees but it travels down into my shin and thighs so if i rub the knee it stops all of the pain. well thats all i can think of for now... if i remember anything else ill message you. always keep painkillers with you and tell her i feel her pain.

I had the same thing when I was ten. I couldn't walk at all. I tried, but I fell because it hurt so bad and I began to scream. My mom took me to the doctor, but they can't do anything about it. It will last about a month to four months, I think, but I had it every night for about six months. So it all depends. Pain meds help a little, but not very much. She just has to get through with it and deal with it.

If the pain is so bad, she should be seen at the hospital. Who diagnosed growing pains? They shouldn't have your daughter in tears, severe pain, and unable to sleep, therefore it could be something else. I was amazed when you wrote "poor thing. lol". Sorry, but if it was any child related to me, or even a stranger, I wouldn't be laughing about it.

Encourage her to do some lunges or exercises to stretch her legs. Bending over or sitting straddle on the floor while leaning forward will help.
Then have her soak in a warm tub. Afterwards, massage and then use heating pads.

There really is no such thing as "growing pains".

Do a search on fibromyalgia. Most of us who were told we had growing pains, ended up later being diagnosed with this.

There can of course, be other problems, just something to look at.

Try heat ... a warm bath, heating pad, electric blanket. That is what has given me the most relief of anything.

Are you sure it is growing pains ? how old is she if she cannot tell her problem maybe it is something else. did you try cold and hot? one time keep her legs so hot then see what happens? if nothing then try to keep them cold ? you should try everything (by asking your dr. ofcourse)? my cousin had growing pains but painkiller used to help. now he is 9 and he is so fine.. god may help you. to be mother is really so hard.

My brother used to have these. Here are a few things you can try:

Prop her legs up in the air across a couple of pillows.

Cut sugar out of her diet.

Get her to go for a short jog and see if it helps.

I hope she's feeling bettter soon.
