Seriously, I'm really good at detecting fakes. You could (it might be like, creepy, but I'm not like that) e-mail pictures of it to me, definitely of the strap, the interior lining, and the bottom. It's like, hard to tell if it's fake from just a description. Idk.
Okay, look at the strap. Real ones have red painted edges.
On the monogram, the shape to the top right corner of the LV should be a different color than the LV.
The lining should be red and suede-y.
It should smell like real leather all over. The leather should be soft.
Also, if they bought you a real one, didn't it come with a certificate of authenticity? Also, it should come with a dustbag. Ask them how and where they bought it.
Obviously you know about the serial number. That's also necessary.

In a further effort, the company closely controls the distribution of its products.Until the 1980s, Vuitton products were widely sold in department stores (e.g., Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue). Today, Vuitton products are primarily available at authentic Louis Vuitton boutiques, with a small number of exceptions.

Alrighty. These people are frusterating me. FIRST of, Louis Vuitton DOES NOT have a serial number or a certificate of authenticity. The only way to tell if it is real, is if you go to a louis vuitton shop. There they will verify it.

Murakami is harder to copy than Monogram. Because the color patern is really unique (it doesn't repeat from one line to another line). You need to look at the serial number INSIDE, usually hidden inside of the inside pocket.
If you want to be sure you just need to flash them to an employee at the LV store to find out.
