Ok well maybe its a little warmer than warm, I take a bath everynight cause pregnancy wears me out at work. Once my plug falls out, can I still take warm baths?

I have to agree with not taking a bath after loosing your plug. What do you think the plug is there for in the first place??? Hellooooo to block bacteria!!! Ive been told no sex, swimming, baths, or any activity that could cause bacteria to enter after you loose your plug. Why not skip the bath and have your husband (or whoever) massage your back? Maybe take a shower and let the "warmer than warm" water hit your back where it hurts? Wouldn't you rather be on the safe side? I also have to agree with asking your Dr/OB on a concern like this and not some random internet user.

As for the water temp, as long as the water temperatures do not exceed 100 degrees is the average answer Ive heard. But Ive also heard the answer is still out on how much effect a hot bath will have on mother and baby as of yet. Ive also been told no wet/dry sauna's or jacuzzis and no hot baths/showers (currently 28 wks with our 2nd son). Again, Id consult your Dr first, but for now on both the temp and the plug loss, is it worth the risk?

You should not be taking "warmer than warm" baths at any stage in your pregnancy. For the same reason you are not allowed sauna's or Jacuzzis. A luke warm bath is fine as long as it is body temperature but not any hotter than that. The baby cannot regulate its body temperature and what you are doing is risking your babies life. Please get medical advice and stop having "warmer than warm" baths right away. Good luck.

I don't think there is much risk of it. They say bacteria can get inside, but I know I took baths still. My plug fell out a few days before my son was born, and inbetween there I had back pain/back labour so I was told to take baths to soak. I'm sure it's fine!

It is advised that you don't because you could be letting in bacteria and what not. But if I were you I would talk to your doctor about your concerns to see what he/she thinks. Don't take the chance by just going off of what we say on here, talk to your doc that way you will feel more comfortable with the answer that you get rather than wondering if it is correct or not.

You can still take a bath after your plug comes out.

You aren't supposed to take a bath once your water breaks though.
