Sitting Online! is same in modern time like singing songs in Bathroom or doing all kind of acts when you are alone in Home. Sitting online, if searching for friends, that means they are lacking somewhere in their personal life and looking to get it fulfilled thru internet media.
Basically, any action of Human being is very much connected to his/her desire which has not yet fulfilled.

Well if we were in the matrix, I could say that I'm looking for the truth! lol
But in real life, I think people are looking to be entertained, because we are too bored or too lazy, because if we want so there are tons of things to do, then being online!
And we think that's easier to sit here and just use our little fingers.
And Some are searching for knowledge, others for shopping...whatever...All basis is in entertainement.

Entertainment that they can Interact with. It's like sitting in front of the television, only you can talk to it without being seen as crazy.
