Solid=crap (most of the time, anyway)
Liquid=pee
gas=farts.

Solid=your skull
liquid=water
gas=oxygen

Solid=marble
liquid=diet coke
gas=helium

A gas is any part of the atmosphere at room temperature (oxygen, nitrogen, helium, etc...)

liquid can be molten metal, lava, water, mercury, etc...

solid, just about any metal at room temperature (tin, lead, copper, etc...)
