I am interested in cleansing of the gastro intestinal system of the body. Cloves are claimed to have an anti-parasite property. Is it safe to eat them whole and are there any specific amounts to consume?

Yes, and cloves are great along with green pumpkin seeds for parasites. I did the lemon diet, parasite cleanse, liver cleanse, and kidney cleanse and cilation therapy all from my pantry. I also had all mercury removed from my mouth. I could not walk, had vertigo and passed out when I looked at the computer screen. This ratically changed my life. cloves are a spice and are used in food and a wide range of things like fragrances and cigarettes. they also can have a numbing effect on the mucosa of the mouth and nose. talk to someone at an herbal emporium or store. if u think u have intestinal parasites you should see a doctor and not be messing around with home cures. intestinal parasites can maim and kill you if left untreated, i know i have treated people with them and they can cause very bad things.

It's safe, but you probably do not have any parasites. If you did, you would know (they have unpleasant symptoms), and a doctor would be a better solution than eating cloves.
