That's easy. Shut the fan off. Starting with one blade, measure the distance from the top of the blade to a point on the ceiling. (use the floor if the ceiling is too far away) Then rotate the fan in either direction, makes no difference. Measure the next blade, if it is different adjust the blade by either pushing up of pulling down until it matches the first one. Do all the blades until they are all exactly the same distance from the point of the ceiling that you measured the first one. You must use the same measuring point for all the blades.
What you need to do is adjust the pitch of the blades.
loosening up the screws and turning the fan on is not very bright.

Add weights on a blade or two to balance the fan. If there is a light fixture, make sure it is securely in place. Is the fan making noise too? If so, it might be time to treat yourself to a new fan. Hunter fans last long and run quietly. Actually, they are so quiet that I had to purchase a floor fan so I could fall asleep to the sound of a fan.

The fan blades are out of balance. If the blades are dirty clean them even a small amount of dirt is enough to affect the balance. If they are clean, that not the prob. You can get a balancing kit at a home improvement store It is a bunch of tiny self adhesive weights, and comes with instructions. It is kind of like balancing a tire.

You can buy little weights at your home center to place on the paddles to re-balance the fan.
The weights have little peel-off stickers on them that mount them right to the upper part of the fan-blade so they can not be seen by people looking up at the fan.

Make sure they are clean .. then normally the fans have little sticky back weights that come with them in the box these are for balancing the fans. you might get replacements for them in your hardware store they come with a user guide.. but firstly make sure the housing for holding the unit to the ceiling allows the fan to hang perfeclly on the vertical axis..this could be your problem.

If you loosen the screws so you can move them slightly, turn the fan on high for about 10 - 15 seconds then turn it off it should balance the fan. Don't forget to let the fan stop on it's own then, without disturbing the positions of the blades, tighten them up.
