AH! this sounds like my life! lol. i'm in high school too...junior year...HORRIBLE! As far as homework...yea it's a bother but it helps to reinforce whats learned in class. as for not remembering what you learned in class, i would suggest getting more sleep, eating breakfast, and possibly even taking vitamins such as focus factor. My dad uses them to help him concentrate better. It's not a steroid or anything like that. It's completely safe to use. As for english, a tale of two cities is a hard book. I remember i hated it. But if you go to Barnes and Nobles and buy the book: Spark Notes 101 Literature it will greatly help your understand of the book. For procrastination, what i like to do is write down a list of the things have to do...this would include homework, projects, studying for tests/quizzes etc. Write them in any order and then decide which is most important, and which can wait until the weekend or another day. After you decide which things are important, then do the subject that take less time (anywhere from 10 minutes to 35 minutes) FIRST! Then do the things that will take a longer time afterwards. As for stress i find evaluating the situation helpful. Whenever it seems like AH I CAN'T DO THIS, i stop and sit down. i close my eyes, breathe in for 5 counts ( 1,2,3,4,5), hold for 5 counts, and release through the mouth for 5 counts. Do this 3 or more times and it will completely calm you down. then you can make the list of things you have to do etc. Lastly, study habits. It would probably be beneficial to review whatever you did that day in class. Just spend a couple of minutes...maybe about 10-20 minutes reviewing that the teacher said in class/notes you took. You mentioned that you take notes in class. Do you write down everything the teacher says and sometimes miss important information? If so try listening more (but dont zone out) and taking notes on the main points of the teachers speech or lecture/lesson. I hope this helped. If you ever need anything just ask for it = )

Study habits...well I find that taking notes is extremely helpful so I don't know what to tell you. I think that flashcards are a great way to quiz yourself, just write down some key terms and questions on one side, and then write the answers on the back. As for stress, I totally know what your talking about...My mom gave me this card that gives you tips to calm down. Here they are:
1. Take 10 deep breaths
2. Find a quiet place to regroup
3. Distract yourself
4. Get some exercise to lift your mood.
6. Make a pie chart of everything that's bugging you.
7. Talk to a problem solver (friend)
8. Make a list of actions to take.
9. Visualize what you want
If those don't help, I find it refreshing to take all stress out on an innocent pillow. If you have a journal, write what's bugging you down...or talk it out with someone. I Hope this helps.

I have had this feeling before, and my tips to you would to be.
1) Wile taking notes underline important things with colored penciles.
2) ask your parents to help you study so you could be more obligated.
3) set goals for yourself such as, study or read your book insted of watching T.V.
4) Take a break by haveing a snack imbetween studying times.
5) and last, dont think of what you have to do otherwise you will try to get away from it and that brings pressure to you.
Don't think of it as a burdain, just think of it as an fun activity.
Just think of how your grades will improve and be positive.

Well, let me see..."A Tale of Two Cities," by Charles Dickens. A classic....hmmmm....must be a reason it's a classic. When I was a student I decided everything was as interesting or boring as I made it. I took each class as a personal challenge. How could I possibly know everything about everything around me? This made me dig deeper, and surprise!! Everything WAS as interesting as I made it. It had little to do with the teacher or class, and a lot to do with my approach to the work.
Once I took responsibility for entertaining myself with what I was charged to do - I had a pretty good time accomplishing it!
And occassionally, as a post-graduate, I still find myself a student. Having the right attitude always makes the difference.

Try to get in the habbit of forcing yourself to do your homework directly after school. That way, you won't feel as pressured and stressed at night when you're trying to rush through it and would rather be just relaxing. It'll take some self disipline to get in the habbit, but i think once you start, you'll find that you feel so much better. Just try to remember everyone is feeling stressed and under alot of pressure, not just you! Also, if your friends are taking the same courses as you are, study together! Its can help alot! good luck =]

The same thing happened to my mother, and she put ice on it the first day and then she would put heat on it by putting a hot cloth on it. But it would still hurt so she went to the doctor and they found that she had a hair line fracture near her ankle from missing a step. So if it keeps hurting and the swelling wont go down you should probably go to the doctor cuz it might be something worse (just a precaution).

Everyone just wants to see you finish what you started. Find a quite place to study with good lighting and comfortable seating.
