This kind of message is common in DOS based
operating systems.

At best it means you really need to use utilities
Check Disk or Disk Clean Up
and Defrag your hard drive.

Also, it would be expedient to remove programs and applications you are not using.
Your CPU may be maxing because of too much demand for memory with the hardware you have.
Adding some RAM can help.

But, my friend, I am sure you need to BACK UP
ALL of your important things NOW on external media such as
CD or DVD
in case of a major crash of your hard drive.

Make sure that you also have your installation CDs for your programs.

You will be very very happy with OSes
either Windows 2000 Pro, very cheap now
or Windows XP.
They are NOT old DOS based OSes
and are FAR less likely to ever crash
or you see the old blue screen of death.
The difference is that Win2000 is an earlier, leaner version of XP (without the pretty graphics, colors, and
security features < needed in office settings.

You can delay an impending crash
by running only one program or application
at a time. Close one before opening another.

If you are on a restricted budget >Before purchasing XP look on Ebay to see if you can find Win2000 Pro cheap.
OR
If your system is pretty old, and you have need for more speed for gaming or other applications
consider purchasing a new system
that has XP and other cool apps already installed in the package.
On sale you can get a nice Athalon or Semptron with lots of included goodies for under $500.

I've given you several options
and it is time to consider some changes.
Most important, BACK UP your important "stuff".

you can get Win
