I have a 1995 FD RX7 and I am looking for an engine swap. One of my workmates is selling a R26B 4-Rotor Engine which he got in his previous job. I was wondering if the engine would fit in my FD or if I have to stick with the 20B.

Thanks in advance.

If he has the Intake's and distributors or Coil system for the new one.. Go for it... You might have to do some remodeling under the hood.

700bhp of High reving Mazda Power...At 9000 RPM's

I myself couldn't afford to do that kind of swap. And would have to stay with Twin Turbo 20B but I would look for an SP version. Or like that guy in San Deigo found a Cosmo with a 3 rotor engine in it and is doing a swap into his RX3 Wagon...

first off I smell BS

anyways if you really are considering this call roger mandeville and check with him as to what kind of modds you need to make.

the reason i callBS is because you are asking this question. here..The fact that you suposidly already have a 20b in the car says you know what is required to swap motors in the third gen so why are confused if you can swap a 4 rotor in??????????

LOL how much does thid friend want for the motor????????

the first answer; thats not even a real r26b

Very cool mod.
Ill be interested in your FD motor if you continue with the swap.
The 787/B motors are sick!
To get that to fit...be ready to deal with the driveshaft and engine/tranny mounts.
The R26B is a little heavier and will most likely need a bulkier crossmember.
If the R26B is complete with all wiring...GO FOR IT.

stick with the 20b dude because if your friend doesnt have everything you need for the swap you'll pay TONS of money for parts. But if you do have teh money for the parts go for it.
