I have a GREAT LIFE and a super family! I like MYSELF and do not HATE people!

On the other hand - liberals ARE all they accuse US of being and I truly believe that. They ALWAYS accuse people of doing what they are doing to get the focus off themselves and put you in defense mode. They are good at it but we are on to them...

Liberals - we Conservatives are HAPPY and OPTIMISTIC so don't worry about us. Worry about your own warped ideology and your lack of morals getting you or your kids into trouble some day!

You said it all in one word - Optimistic! The Liberals feed on negative thoughts. They need to convince their constituents that someone else (not themselves) is making their lives miserable. They need people to think that they can't succeed no matter what they do. My Grandfather came here and was put back in school because he didn't speak English (5th to 2nd grade), he dropped out in 5th grade to go to work (at 13). He ending up speaking English with a U.S. accent (took night courses at his own expense, no finacial aid), put his son through a private college and owning (owning not mortgage) a beach house and a house in the city, he also always owned a car (even in WWII). If he arrived today, the Neo-Libs would have convinced him not to learn English and that all his problems were caused by someone else. He would die just as poor as when he got here. He is why I am a Republican (oh an he was a Welder).

And I think it's funny that my story of optimism would get negative responses, so I'm right you Libs hate a positive story like that.

Many Liberals flaunt their ignorance. They are conditioned to believe lies instead of think for themselves. For example, the late Democrat Senator Byrd was a recruiter and officer in the KKK. Have you ever heard a Liberal talk about that, much less condemn him? Also, the people lynching blacks in the South and belonging to the KKK were mostly Democrats. About now, all the Liberals reading this truth are spewing venom at me for saying it. That's the way they've been conditioned. Then there is the problem of warmongers. Democrat President Roosevelt got us in WWII, Democrat President Truman got us into the Korean War, then lost it. Democrat President Kennedy got us into the Vietnam war. Democrat President Johnson used the big lie, "The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, and caused 58,000 Americans to die, and 100s of thousand to be maimed and their lives ruined. I know about all this because I am nearly 80 years old and I served in the military for 24 years during those times. The Liberals are like cats in a litter box trying to cover up all the truth.

I agree as I am the same optimistic way except for the incredibly immoral way Republicans in Congressed raised discretionary spending by 40% over the last ten years. This was so embarrasing and irresponsible I quit the party and can't believe no one else cares. Sure makes the Democrats look good.

I just love artgurll's response (above). Very matter-of-fact and to the point. As an extremely happy and financially "OK" person myself, I don't think either party owns the patent to happiness. The happy neo-cons party leaders are riveted with scandal after scandal. Happy people don't steal (Duke Cunningham) nor prey on young pages (Mark Fowley) or get hooked on drugs (Rush Limbaugh) and the list goes on and on.

Happy people don't hate entire cultures based on their share of lunatics as I don't hate an entire culture based on the KKK. There is an old saying that ignorance is bliss, this way we all can be happy if we choose.

Really? If you are so happy as you say, then why do you worry about Oprah helping little black children in Africa? Why do you concern yourself with such silly matters? Why do you hate Hillary and other democrats or people who are different than you? I've never met a conservative who is optomistic. They are always looking to the past as the 'good old days' and waxing nostalgic about them. Liberals are excited for the future and for equality and furthering democratic ideals of equality and democracy. Personally, as a woman, the past would be a horrific place to go back to. But you cons seem to love it for some strange reason.
Cons are negative, fear based and use fear language. Just listen to a Bush speech, it's all right there. "if we don't fight in Baghdad, those bad terrorists are gonna get us here in America". Well, no they aren't if we have good security at our ports and our borders. "Our prices are going to go up if we raise minumum wage" "our system will fall apart if we have national health care", or "it will cost too much for National healthcare or more money for schools or to fix our roads or to fix our system". Golly gee, it all sounds like fear language to me coming from conservatives.

People like you have made me a " liberal " I don't even know what that is supposed to mean...But I do not want people tortured in my name...I do not want my tax dollars spent on secret prisons....I am not threatened by peoples who think of God in a different way than I do. I have no problem not trying to force my moral values on others..I am happy that you are happy...I am glad you have a great life. I was just listening to something that made me think about this very subject!

I *am* happy and definitely optimistic. It's a choice - and I choose to be happy.

I have some really close friends who are very, very liberal, and I've told every single one that I really feel liberals are just determined to be miserable. Quit looking for things to be angry about!!
