I have run up a bill of £53 making 47 calls to 3 International Directory Enquiries service because when my new phone was in my pocket, the keypad was unlocked and the number was dialled without my knowledge. What bothers me is I did not call Directory Enquiries to obtain a telephone number and the Directory Enquiries premium rate number was pre-saved in my phone when I bought it and is the first number in my contact list so is obviously going to be dialled if my kepad is unlocked. Do you think I have a case to complain and have the money refunded?

This is the best option for a reverse phone number lookup https://tr.im/721a7
Receiving a one or two hang up calls each month is probably nothing to worry about, but when those calls increase in frequency and if it happens in the middle of the night then you must do something to stop it, before it starts affecting your life. With the help of this services you can take away the one advantage these people have - their anonymity.

Unfortunately you have no case to complain! this is your phone and up to you to look after it and connections so to speak. I don't think you'll get the money refunded as was nothing to do with your supplier - as such you (whether aware or not) dialled a number and your network connected you to it. How would they know if you meant to dial it or not?
Sorry

I would have a go if I was you, but bear in mind it's up to you to ensure the keypad is on, and this is all they will probably say to you.

i don't think you will get anywhere, as one, you were aware that the number was saved in your phone and would be the first number called if buttons were pressed, and two, you failed to use key lock.

good luck if you try and complain but i don't think you stand a chance.

3 is being entirely fair.

You dialled the number (accidentally 47 times) and must now foot the bill.
