You need to show the Registrar your decree absolute from your former marriage.

You show your decree absolute to the person marrying you.
You get one as soon as your divorce goes through completely, if you have lost yours you can get a notarised copy from the registry office it costs about £12 and takes around 4 weeks

Get a copy of your divoce papers from the court that deal with the case. You'll need prove of you you are 2or3 and a fee will apply. Then they will only post it to your address supplied.

You should have been given a certificate of divorce when it was finalized. Check with the Divorce court and get one.

Your signed divorce papers usually are accepted by lawyers anyway, depends on the church. RC's have a few problems with divorced women remarrying, if your intended is RC , you may need to go for an annulment.

Don't they do divorce certificates/decrees in Scotland? Take whatever paperwork you have.
