I wouldn't wash them in the machine. They might slip down and fall onto a hot surface and then melt. A friend regularly pulls out wooden spoons & utensils that have black burn marks on them, so imagine how melted plastic would be to deal with (cleaning it up could a chore.)

I think ziplock bags were designed to be disposable, not recyclable. They are notoriously inexpensive, so just use new ones... If "recycling" is your goal, just put them in the POLYETHYLENE container! Using your dishwasher for washing dirty ziplock bags is, at best, a waste of time and , at worst, a danger to the dishwasher. The bag will probably block the outflow of the dishwasher, and potentially damage it. Good Luck!

I've done that but on the top shelf away from the heat. And I don't reuse the ones I marinate in, I wash the ones that had dry stuff like bread crumbs, cookies, ect, and use the used one for marinating meats, then toss them.

ive always washed ziploc bags in my dishwasher and i havent had any problems with them melting.
