My girlfriend's boss usually gets 10 hours a day that she has to work. she usually opens the store at 10am and is supposed to be there until 8pm. She instead only comes in to opens the store and leaves a couple of hours later and she does this everyday for the past couple of years. she knows the override code for payroll so she just adjusts her hours. My girlfriend and i find this disrespectful and illegal and we want to get her in trouble for it because the rest of us work hard for our money. How much evidence do we need to convict her of these crimes? My girlfriend is scared that if she speaks out that her boss has the rights to fire her, is this true? We want her to get in a lot of trouble and expose her wrong doings. Please help!

Even tho it doesnt affect her paycheck it bothers her because she closes and because the manager is not there to help when she should be she and the other employees have to work harder.

She is not out doing work she is out at a coffee shop with her boyfriend. we have evidence of this just not on tape. she is also not salaried and works for 15 dollars an hour.

Does your girl friend do all the work for the boss then? If the boss is not doing the work then who is doing all the work?

Usually you can't. Most likely she's a salaried employee and that alone exempts her. On the other hand her duties may include working at home IE. bookwork ordering running tapes of purchases. By now I'm sure her boss knows exactly when she arrives and leaves work. There is a cute way to catch her boss form "stealing Time" however. If there there are more than one other persons working under the person involved who are observing this behavior it's important that everyone document this accurately every day. Have other jobs lined up before signing and mailing a registered letter to her boss's eyes only accurately depicting in as few words possible your findings. Be for sending be sure you know who opens her boss's mail. Many office managers offices do this for their boss. They are bound to present this information to their boss however.

In some states you do not need a reason to be fired. However causing problems for the boss's girlfriends will get you in trouble. By the way it is not illegal unless the boss claims she is stealing time. Still we would not be prosecuted just fired. He can not do that as she would sue him for sexual harassment.
Either get over it or find another job.

When people are stressed, they go into flight or fight mode, and "unnecessary" bodily systems get put on hold. Thats why women have a harder time getting pregnant when their stressed, miss periods when their stressed, or gain weight when their stressed. Because the reproduction, an metabolism systems aren't running 100%. You sound really stressed, I think it is probably the cause, your girlfriend and you fighting can't help either, I don't want to touch my lover at all when I'm mad at them. I think you guys need to talk about things, and I think it would be more healthy for you if she didn't get involved in your career. Its better that you go at a pace that is good for you and don't turn sections of your life into hell.

I understand you being upset about it- I would too. However, remember, what goes around comes around. Have you and your girlfriend done everything by the book?
Eventually it will catch up with her- she will get in trouble soon enough. If I were you I would stay out of it since it doesn't effect your paycheck or your wellbeing. getting into her business could really hurt you in the long run.

Your girlfriend does not know what salary arrangement her boss has with the company. Believe it or not if your girlfriend gets her boss fired her boss can sue her for getting fired. You do not know for certain that she is doing anything wrong.

This is a no-win situation. If you blow the whistle on her, better have another job lined up.
