my 4 month old son has a cold and a fever. His normal feeding is about 4 oz of formula every 2-3 hours. Now that he has a cold, he wont eat at all maybe every now and then he will drink, but not enough. Not sure how what to do to keep him nourished and hydrated. Any suggestions would be helpful. thanks

Make sure he keeps up fluids, especially electrolytes (In the UK Diarrolyte). None of us fancy eating much when we have a cold.

He probably can't breathe well enough to feed. Try holding him upright when feeding him. A humidifier might help in his room. Some moist saline in his nose if it's runny will help loosen anything and you can GENTLY suction it out (don't force it too hard with that suction though) and maybe he can breath a little easier.

He'll be better in a day or two so don't worry too much about his not eating well for a day or so, but make sure he gets at least 6-8 oz of fluid in him in a day. Give him water/juice with a spoon if you have to. He'll be his old self shortly.

non eating baby? Doctor or hospital straight away.

Mine did that, had a stomach virus and was sick for a week. Fortunately it was caught early and we changed his milk to a non-lactose kind by doctors suggestion. Any way... visit a doctor asap.

I would take him back to the pound and trade him in for a new one.
