Jude Law. He's young enough to play Shakespeare as a young man, and talented enough to play older than he is. Also, given the likenesses we've seen of Shakespeare, I think he could be easily made up to look like the Bard.

I think probably the best actor for the lead role would be...

Goffrey Rush. He has been in many movies. and is a great actor.
