Can you just put your sim card in a new Go Phone and it work ok?

I just want to finish my contract,and a friend said i could just simply put my sim card in a cheap go phone and it would work.Any help would great...................thanks

If you are already have Cingular as your cell phone provider and have a go phone then you are able to use the prepaid phone by switching your sim card on the back of your old phone to the prepaid phone. Just remember that you are still on your contract through Cingular even though you are switching or using another another phone.
