Obama is very intelligent man, what I hope happens because is he junior senator I didn't know he was Governor but if he was I'm sure he was a fantastic person in office. I think that Hillary plus Bill Clinton would 2 for one, and Obama is Hillary's Vice President you talking about two great or rather three great, great minds working together as our Commander in Chief would be in dream team. I think my wish will come true because a Republican that is fit to be President, not one. Bush was installed in office by the courts his first term, stole the reelect 2nd time and look what terrible, terrible shape we're in now. We need stable minds running are White House not a bunch of morons.

He is a senator, not a governor and you have spelled his name wrong.
I can see you are trying to sound like you have something to say, but, you know, those two mistakes immediately put you out of the running for offering anything valuable to the general discussion.
And of course, there was the topper: "what has he done besides being black....?" How is that a valid question, and I guess I need to point out that Ronald Reagan started his political career as a paid speech-giver, since you don't do any research first. Have you looked into his positions, have you researched his voting record?
Why don't you do your homework? You won't come across as quite so stupid, and you might actually spur a decent discussion here.
By the way, what have YOU done besides be white? I'm just guessing.....

Desperate democratic party members will go for whomever they think is the best candidate OR they will become politically correct and back a liberal, preferrably if gender, race, or religion can be inflicted in the race.
Personally, I think he is a very intelligent young man (and not a governor, either) who will, with experience, prove to be a good leader in this country--regardless of his color or religion.
Experience counts. Not good looks and nothing more than a glib tongue.

I originally had written a scathing rebuke to this questioner, believing she was slamming Barack Obama out of ignorance, particularly since she didn't really know who he is (he's a Senator, not a governor).
She emailed me and explained that she was not slamming Obama, just inquiring as to his qualifications. On re-reading the question I realize that she is correct, and was asking an honest question.
I therefore withdraw my original answer, with my sincere apologies, and wish her all the best in her quest for the truth.

Barack Obama was a state senator before running for the US senate. You can find his biography at http://obama.senate.gov/. He is not a yes-man for the democrats, nor is he a "Washington Insider" His appeal is in bringing new ideas and not be encumbered by promises or activities in the past. His voting record is on line and you can see where he stands on any issue. You can get on his email list, and any time I have sent emails he/his office has responded. He is one of my senators. I like his stand on issues, and if he is nominated I will probably work on his campaign.

Well, for one he's a Senator not Gov. Also, his manner is one that sends signals of hope versus fear. JFK was pretty young as well, but he did a great job at leading the US I think. The black factor is playing a role as well, as the US consistently try to put a band-aid on the bleeding artery of racial divisions within the US.
I think Colon Powell would have been a good leader if you want the black factor, that is until he lied to invade Iraq. As a black person myself, I know that a person of any color can be good or bad at that or any position.

I know he has written many books and is suppose to be very intelligent. I also know he has not lied and abused the American people in the past like the Clinton's did. I would rather see him in office than stupid self-goal oriented Hillary or is it Dumbary.

the media is building him up becuz they think, mind you not the voters, that he is exciting as a candidate but i doubt vvery much if he is ever going to win because he have no experience and have not done anything subtantial as yet, i rather vote for mrs. clinton than for him only because of contributions to this government and experience wise.
