unplug your cable box for about a minute then let it boot up again. if the same problem persists then its your provider. In that case all you can do is call and let them know about it.

I've lost sound for anywhere up to 5minutes. It can't be a pure coincidence that normally when I lose sound it is usually when it is about to rain or is raining heavily.
It might be worth checking the receiver for rain damage and signs of corrosion.

I get the same thing with sky - very annoying.
No idea what is causing it, maybe weather conditions?
