cut off all ties rather than to remain platonic friends?
Is it really that hard to talk about the weather when all you want to do is hold them?

Cutting off all ties is best. That way you won't be constantly reminded of the conflict.

It depends, dear, if the distance is permanent or temporary. If it's permanent, then by all means, cut ties. Only if you can't handle just being the best of friends with the person. You need to know, though, that there is the opportunity for the two of you to reconnect some day, perhaps when you're older and have job opportunities closer to Mr. Yummy. If this is a temporary sitch then you need to chill your jets until he comes back. Patience really is a virtue. Good luck. Nana

Its human nature to crave more for something or someone we less likely to get or be with.
If you wish to hold someone, and there is no chance for that, that wish is gonna turn into desire. It will keep increasing if platonic relationship in place.May be the best idea is to avoid seeing the person and go as far as possible from the person, It might not be possible to get over it when the love is strong, but the pain sure will be less.

Oh Jessica how do I understand where you are at!! Yes, it is easier to get that person out of your mind. Staying friends only prolongs the pain and heartache! You need time to heal and realize what you love and don't love about this person. As time goes by, your pain will dull. Get active and out with friends. Allow yourself to talk about this person and grieve the relationship - but don't keep contact until you are healed and know that you can handle it - though, if you really love this person, even then you will have to guard your heart to not open up old wounds. Trust me the pain does go away.!! Good luck!

It's easier to deal with if you cut off all ties, but that emotionally sucks. If he or she is a good friend, then try to get over them. After all, they might seem like a perfect friend, but that doesn't mean they'd be perfect in a romantic relationship.

It's easier on your heart to cut all ties at first and give yourself time to heal and maybe revisit the relationship later as friends.
