anabolism and dehydration sysnthesis, they both require energy (atp). They need atp cuz they both bound two or more molecules to form a larger molecule by adding water. Catabolism and hydrolysis, in the other hand, do not require energy, cuz they release energy, they also take the water off. (hydro-water lysis=break).
