At one point I thought and tried to because he is the President. But we have been a war for longer than four years. So many men are dying at such a young age. There are so many unanswered questions about this war. Unemployment is at an all time high. The sale of property has declined, the so called, "No Child Left Behind" program is a joke. How can he continue to cut education, health care, or any other program that is knocking out the middle class and poor. If your a millionaire, then your O.K. That's who benefits. Thanks to Bush and Big Business, my retirement is frozen and my stock has dropped. I'm working to help save for my future. Now ask me that again.

How could anyone with a brain and a sense of fairness not respect the man?
I'm not much into politics, so I would respect the man just for the respect with which he has treated the military.
Beyond that, he has never worried about being popular, so I doubt if he gives a rat's a** if you don't like him. He has always done what he thought was best for the country, all in the face of every manner of obstruction and criticism that his opposition, both here and abroad, could throw up in his way. The press who gave Clinton a pass, have done everything to paint him anywhere from an incompetent to an evil genius.
His administration has had to deal with 9/11, Katrina, Afghanistan and Iraq, mostly with the resources left to him by his predecessor., and somehow he managed to keep his sanity and our economy strong.
Only history will be able to say whether or not he was a great president, but considering the liberal make up of universities, I doubt even history will give him a fair shake.
Yes, I respect the president Bush.

At least he sticks to what he believes in. Why don't you ask our troops in Iraq if they respect him? I think you would get a lot different response than you see from the ill informed people on here. How do you think we got our freedom? The answer to that question is that a lot of people fought and died so that you could have the freedom to post stupid questions like this. I have a lot more respect for someone who will stick to what they know is right. GWB has a lot more ability to see what will happen in the future if we don't fight this war than you or anyone else on here. He also has more information available to him than what the liberal media is willing to present to the American people. The media doesn't have hardly anyone at all reporting from Iraq yet they continue to report the death toll and nothing else. There are a lot of positive things that have happened in Iraq but the media won't report it. Also the economy is doing great and unemployment is at an all time low. If you want to see a bad economy go back to the 80's and check that out. You people have no right to complain about anything. I also don't think you really care how many of our troops have died. You don't know any of them personally and if you really cared about them you might want to try supporting them.

I don't think it really matters if I do, but I don't have a lot of respect for him. I respect the fact that our Prime Minister seems to have a strong bond with GWB, despite what it means for Australian troops.
You lot elected him. If everyone who hated him had bothered to vote, I'm sure the outcome would have been different. Voting is mandatory here, and at least people who hate Howard had their say. I've asked a lot of Americans who dislike Bush if they even bothered to vote, and they haven't (some have).
If you're concerned, vote him out at the next election.
If you care at all, VOTE! It's a priveledge to even be given the choice!

No. He campaigned saying that he wanted to bring back respect and humility to the office of the presidency. Once upon a time, he said he wanted to be a "compassionate conservative". Once upon a time, he said that nation building was something that America should not get involved in.
He's a liar, he has no respect for any other branch of government or for the will of the American people. He thinks he's like a king above the law.

I TOTALLY AND ABSOLUTELY RESPECT HIM!!
You know, it is easy to forget the 'promises' that Bill and Hillary made while in office. It strikes home when it is listed like this:
After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
BUSH COVERED IT!
After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
BUSH COVERED IT!
After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
BUSH COVERED IT!
After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible! would be hunted down and punished.
BUSH COVERED IT!
After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
BUSH COVERED IT!
Maybe if Clinton had kept his promise, an estimated 3,000 people in New York and Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be alive today.
BUSH TOLD THOSE FIREMAN -- THEY WOULD HEAR US TOO!
And, now that Bush is taking action to bring these people to justice, we have Democrats charging him with being a war monger.
AN INTERESTING QUESTION: This question was raised on a Philly radio call-in show. Without casting stones, it is a legitimate question there are two men, both extremely wealthy. One develops relatively cheap software and gives billions of dollars to charity. The other sponsors terrorism. That being the case, why was it that the Clinton administration spent more money chasing down Bill Gates over the past eight years than Osama bin Laden?
THINK ABOUT IT!
It is a strange turn of events. Hillary gets $8 Million for her forthcoming memoir. Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written. This from two people who have spent the past 8 years being unable to recall anything about past events while under oath!
Sincerely, Cmdr Hamilton McWhorter USN(ret)
