I not only read while watching TV I can also do puzzles.I usually read during commercials or during the slow moments and do the puzzle during the show. TV today is such that one needs other things to do to stay alert.

If there is music on, it has to be quite. But the TV is on a lot, so I can block it out or leave the room.

I've found that now I can't concentrate on anything unless there is noise in the background...I also can't just sit and watch tv anymore either

def. I listen to all of this heavy metal or grunge while I am reading. I just learn to block it all out as well, though I prefer reading in silence sometimes. lol

I can too. I actually work better when there is noise around me. I think it's because wmusic or noise stops us from thinking or worrying about other things, and then we can concentrate on the task at hand.
