(please no dooms-day religious rants ok. I want to know if man will reach utopia before it's too late or not)
We have technology on our side to adapt with, we know how to laugh and drink booze, and politically influential Religious institutions will hopefully be nullified as nothing more than moral messengers without their prophecy's mucking it up. Maybe then we can all live in a Utopian World sooner rather than later. Which, by the way (no pun intended), is all any Aliens possibly passing by would expect from their neighbors here living in this most beautiful of Galaxy's anyway, namely The Milky Way, but only if we don't screw up by being stupid and disrespectful to each other. _____________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________ Why would anybody go a mile out of their way to step on an Ant hill - Jimi Hendrix

YES but only with major changes and we need to move faster on environmental issues we have to adjust our consumption of fossil fuels and invest in alternatives. like public transport, solar, wind and the real free stuff that is there .... we shall see how adaptable humanity really is for all the self awareness and intelligence we have................................. How soon is now........ Morrissey, The Smiths.

I find it difficult to believe that mankind with ever reach a Utopian existence, when we are so easily motivated by ancient motivators like greed and envy.
Mankind is never satisfied as long as there is someone who has more than them. War, crime, and even destroying of our environment all stem from greed and envy. Corporations looking to improve their market share will destroy the Earth to get it. Every war ever fought was over greed.
It's funny that you mention technology as helping, because technology has been applied to the war efforts first and society second. The United States biggest budget item is our military. Why...to protect ourselves from other taking what we have and making sure we get what we want.

I agree, religion has nothing to do with it. However, a utopia is just a platonic concept. Any "ideal" does not have a form for we life in a finite world. A Utopia does not exist because it is dependent upon its antithesis. Deviation from perfection allows us to distinguish between the two. The concept of peace would not exist without the concept of war. Definition does not exist without an antonym for it.

I understand you and your passions but I shall answer your question first. no they shall not!
and now I shall tell you what scientist says and do research on this so you may become knowledgeable please- alright
on the animal channel it was stated that the one of the males chromosomes is has become stronger and continues to strink, meaning man in the future shall be obsolete and the female will in the future reproduce herself! Now that's deep and I can tell you all I was as shocked as the many will be upon reading this. Please do some research on this matter and e-mail me so you and I or anyone whom reads this may converse on this subject!
Man extinct and women lives, reproducing alone in charge of all this by them selves! remember the male gender they say is soon to be null &void!?
I did not say this they said this!

utopia is idealistic. it cannot happen because human beings are not perfect. and, if we use our resources properly, then yes i see it possible for us to reign supreme for another 3,570 years or more.
