You do not acquire a profession. You have to work hard at getting the right qualifications then experience then professional exams and only then may you qualify as a professional person who can legitimately put letters after or sometimes before your name.
eg Doctor, Chartered Engineer, Registered Safety Practitioner, Chartered Accountant, etc
They are all difficult and are all attainable but only if you have intelligence and aptitude for that profession.
