you never really know someone you only know about them what you think you know about them each time you see their reaction to given situation or the way they handle a questions about something you get a possible glimpse into their personality but you never really know them I am trying to convince my current gf that I really am not an axe murder but until I sell off my collection of used axes and shrunkin heads my chances don't look so good. bottom line: you never really know that other person like you think that you do you are always in for a surprise at some time or another either good or bad so don't make lost of decisions based on the assumption that you know something that you can never really know that is why all love is based on trust you just have to trust that they are who they say they are until they prove to be otherwise

Never ASSUME because when you assume you make an *** out of U and ME.

People wear masks some intentionally some constructed from their insecurities. Sometimes when people like someone they try to be what they think that person wants them to be. Only when someone has diminished their ego and sel-importance will they know themselves. Only when they know themselves will they project their true selves to others and learn to see through their guises.

Learn to see past actions and words and empathise with their motivations.

Does anybody truly know someone else. We might think we do but we don't. I guess if you asked 100 people that know me to tell you what sort of person I am, you'd get a lot of similar answers but the truth is, most wouldn't get close. Because there's the "me" that I let the world see and the "me" that keeps things to myself. So, as the only see "me" as I want them too, that's how they think I am. I assume, a lot of other people do similar.

Many people put up false facades and you can never really know them. If you have the same philosophies about certain subjects and most subjects you can identify with them well.
If you have the same morals and outlook on life you can identify with them even more. If you enjoy the same leisure activities and interests they will seem even more like yourself.
With all of these things being like your own you can say you really know someone, even if a few are not the same as yours.

Good question-My only answer is after a long period of time, I've seen the way someone behaves with the tests of life so I believe in my heart that I know their true self.

by spending time with them(time will tell)... by watching their actions...by seeing how they respond to people and situations.
How they represent themselves...their lifestyle...their character...
the people they hang out with..the choices and decisions they make... how they treat others...
