I have asked what works best that I don't need to purchase and all the ones I've seen will scan, but not repair unless I buy the d*** thing. I have too many viruses in Registry mostly by Spyware.
I need it cleaned out before I go any crazier than I already am.
I appreciate every help.

I've been trying each answer and I cannot understand what/how to choose which "Free" antivirus to use. I open a site and after that, I am totally lost. I'm feeling that hte answers are tooo vague for me, yet everyone else understands them.

All of these are ones that I personally use and all are free.After you install any of them,make sure you update them to get the full affect.

Okay, first of all, remove Norton by going to control panel, add/remove. Make sure that at the launch bar, bottom right corner, right mouse ckick, and close it first. I would then go to www.avast.com, download the home addition ITS FREE, even the upadtes. But, make sure u register with them as they will send u a resistration key through ur e-mail. There no pops or spams either. I have been using this for over a year. Again, no cost to the home user. Hope this helps.

For spyware, those apps are a joke, you can use adaware, but I don't believe they really clean anything.
Oh yeah, and I agree Norton AntiVirus is a joke!
