how long can i leave my computer just like that without clearing off internet history, cookies, and temp. files, etc...basically, i wanted to know how often do we have to do so, and how long can we be carefree with our computer.

You dont have to , but its a good idea to just to keep room on your computer, Its good to clean out the unneccesary stuff, unused items etc. Your computer will run faster. Its also just logical to take away spyware and cookies etc. Viruses come from those places. Carefree does not mean careless. You can run the computer, spyware and virus scans as you are on the computer.

You never have to clear it. It eventually just trims off the oldest to make room for the newest.
I clear mine once a week when I do my spyware scans.

you can set it up in Tools/Internet options browser history then settings from 1 to 999 days
