There is no typical amount. It depends entirely on the size of the company, how much capital they want to raise and the finance structure in general. It will also fluctuate considerably over the lifetime, and even day to day operations of a company as they make secondary offerings, grant stock to employees, buyback shares, make acquisitions, etc.
