My parents will be having their 40th wedding anniversary in October, and don't want much fuss due to a recent bereavement. I am thinking of sending them away together for a couple of nights - about an hours drive from Birmingham. Any ideas of nice hotels with something going on?

Any where along the River Seven, Worcester, all along there. Or North Wales is not too far - lovely country place with big fire, food and peace!

Try Stratford or Worcester, both have nice hotels/B&Bs and plenty of things to do.
