The whole Isiah Washington vs. T.R Knight thing has got me thinking... Should the "other" f word be banned on television? These Access Hollywood type shows show the clip of Isiah saying he never called the other guy a you know, and it bothers me that they don't bleep the word - Anyone else think the same thing? And what should be done about it?

F****T, and yes, I have watched Jerry Springer. That doesnt offend me because the people on the show are all idiots. Most language doesn't bother me, it's just that word that really gets under my skin.

And when do they stop?

Should we get rid of the word boy because black people find it offensive or sister for the same reason.

A F*g is also a cigarette. A gueer is a fraud or fake. A dike is a dam. A queen is a royal title. Gay is a happy word. And so on and so forth....

The thing you need to see here is that Isaiah Washington was not using the word f*ggot in a hateful manner but in a descriptive manner. It wasn't an insult. It was only a pronoun and an appropriate pronoun given the truthfulness of the statement. T. R. is not denying who or what he is so why should Isaiah be penalized for acknowledging who or what he is.

What you need to do is learn the difference between hostility and discrimination. Not all discrimination is hostile and not all hostility is dicriminating.

Personally, I find it cowardly and immature to have people trying to censor what other people do or say just because they want it otherwise. talk about being self-centered. The world is lots of people living together. You need to let them be who they are and leave it at that, otherwise, you become worse than that which offends you. You become a bigot with power which as history looks at it is a tyrant.

Swearing doesn't bother me too much, but I can't STAND the C word. But most times it's not actually necessary.
