there are no reasons...except for the emotional and trendy ones of having a woman.....her political philosophy and policies would make us as weak and ineffective as france is now...and leave us open to financial, labor and military blackmail from other countries...it is not the fact that she is a woman, it is her policies and political philosophy that is wrong for america...have you hillary supporters ever thought about not giving her the pity vote and support because of what her husband did and just judging her on the strict merits of her politics.and corruptness of her and her husband.., instead of accusing everyone who wont vote for her of being anti- feminist ...or trendy..????

Even with the current backlash, by the electorate, against the Republicans, I don’t think Hillary Clinton is a viable candidate. She simply doesn’t have what it takes to marshal the kind of broad support needed to win office. First and foremost, as the past few Presidential elections has attested to, one cannot win a bid for the highest office in the land unless one sways the hearts and minds of Middle America. Middle America with its traditionalist values will probably have reservations against a woman running for President, especially a woman like Hillary, whose persona exudes everything Middle American conservatives despise about the modern feminist movement. Secondly, she doesn’t have the charisma that her husband has, and in order to win swing voters who are straddling the fence between voting for a Republican and Democrat you must be chalked full of charisma. Thirdly, most of America, even in many liberal areas, understands that much of the US’s global dominance and economic strength rests in our military prowess. Most Americans would therefore be reluctant to place a female at the head of the military, which historically has been an entity commonly associated with strong male leaders. Ultimately, if Democrats want to have a contender for the Executive office who has a high probability of success the best thing they can do is discount Hillary Clinton. I for one would not vote for her.

The woman just declared her candidacy. Why don't you give people some time to check out her platform?

People that write off her candidacy simply because of Bill might be shortchanging themselves and the nation. Keep an open mind, check out the voting record of each candidate, listen to their answers on the questions asked, and make a decision based on that. You don't have to like the candidate, you have to like what they've done and what they can do for our country.

And to answer the question more directly: women were not allowed to vote in most states until 1920. Less than 100 years later we have a woman running for the office of President of the most powerful nation on Earth.

If you would prefer to live in a socialist country, then I'd say go right ahead and vote for Hillary. Other than that, I can't see any reason to vote for her.
