She bought her home on her own and wants to make she it will stay hers! Is this a good idea? Shes worried when she tells her fiance he will get upset. I told her oh well, protect yourself!

I think it is a good idea. It also protects him if money is still owed on the house, he would not be responsible for it should they get a divorce. She can also have a provision that the pre-nup becomes void after 20 years or something like that...
I think that in regards to specific items, that sometimes it is important to iron those things out in advance.

In most cases if the house was hers befor the marriage it would remain hers after a divorce, I myself would never ask for a prenup and would be very insulted if I was asked for one. In other words she thinks this thing is going to bomb befor it starts.

although I believe in going into a marriage with the idea of Divorce no where in the vocabulary. I would agree with a prenup....it can always be torn up later in life.

well for some people it works and for others it doesn't. It might bring them some problems and it migt not. Like I said now people believe on making sure that what you have is yours, specially if you are rich or have some money and want to make sure that no one is going to take it away. Do what both of you think is the best and make sure that you do agree together and not because you want to please her or him. trust in each other and be honest with each other too.

This is a great idea, my parents did back like 4 ever ago, then after 2 or so years or marrige they dropped it, its a good thing.
