Could you please "Add Details" and give specifics about the style/genre of song, and whether the song has a male or female vocalist? (To add details, roll your cursor over the pencil icon on the button bar to show the Edit Question menu, then click "Add Details").
I didn't think it was Sting, but that's what popped in my head when I read the question.
I have searched using various keywords from the lyrics you recall, and I don't come up with a good match. There were several Christian songs that came up in the process - was it possibly a Christian band?
