I lost my boyfriend 5 months ago, feb. 9th will be six months. And since he died i've been really down and depressed. But i'm so sick of being sad i wanna be happy again and find the strength to move on it's just hard cause I can't accept the fact that he's acutually gone. His smile made me smile, and now that he's gone I'll never smile as i once did. Can someone please reccomend a song that can help me get through this. Music is powerful and i love it so im willing to listen to anything.

Girl go get you some Mary J Bliege, some of her latest stuff is good and her Mary album is a good one too. I always listen to her when I'm going through something and listening to the passion in her voice let's you know that she's been there. Through tough times and bad times but you gotta pick up the pieces and move on. Hope this helps you.

I'm sorry about your bf, maybe this song'll help ya think about the good times...

Artist/Band: Nichols Joe
Lyrics for Song: I'll Wait for You
Lyrics for Album: III

The snow in Montana was three feet high
The lady at the counter said: There ain't no flights
And so he called her on the telephone
He said: I'll rent a car and I'll drive home

And she said: I'll wait for you
Like I did last year
At Christmas time with your family here
And your truck broke down out in San Antone
And the gifts stayed wrapped until you got home
Oh, this ain't nothin' new
Sweetheart, I'll wait for you

Now he's on his cell phone in a Coupe Deville
Talkin' to the one he loves and always will
His heart is breakin' 'cause she's there alone
Her heart is achin' 'cause she wants him home
She says: I'll wait for you like in '68
When our child was due, but I said, he'll have to wait
Until his dad gets here and stands by my side
Remember, Dear, our son's first cry
Oh, this ain't nothin' new
Sweetheart, I'll wait for you

He didn't stop all day to eat a bite
And he finally got there around midnight
The doctor said, she's in a better place
She said to give this you this note just in case

And it said, I'll wait for you at Heaven's gate
Oh, I don't care how long it takes
And I'll tell Saint Pete I can't come in
Without my love and my best friend
Oh, this ain't nothin' new
Sweetheart, I'll wait for you
P.S. I love you, too
Sweetheart, I'll wait for you

shine on your crazy diamond - pink floyd

play both sections back to back. listen to the lyrics. it's a tribute to a good friend that they lost (syd barrett), but it applies to the loss of any meaninful relationship.

once you have found your "move on" song, make a conscious effort to listen to uplifting stuff until you are feeling better. you're right, music IS powerful and it can help you get through this.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

You've got to really get it all out of your system before you can move on.
Evanescence's My Immortal and Bread's I Would Give Everything I Own helpled me after my dad died, and a friend of mine made me listen to REM's Find The River. They made me feel awful at first, but they really helped me get it out of my system and let him go.

Good luck.

Listen to something upbeat with some good words, or listen to songs in your favorite music genre. Something else that might also help you get through is going somewhere or talking to your best girlfriends. They always help get you through tough times.

Good Luck! ♥♣♣

"Tears in heaven", by Eric Clapton. (he wrote this song after his son died)

Sorry to hear about your loss, I hope you manage to get better, and eventually happy, again.

"Tears In Heaven" Song Lyrics
(Performed by Eric Clapton)

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you feel the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
’cause I know I don’t belong here in heaven...

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
I’ll find my way through night and day
’cause I know I just can’t stay here in heaven...

Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart,
Have you begging please...begging please

Beyond the door there’s peace I’m sure
And I know there’ll be no more tears in heaven...

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you feel the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
’cause I know I don’t belong here in heaven...
