Everybody responds to pregnancy differently. I know with me that my first trimester i was ALWAYS hungry - always! And i had the worst morning sickness so couldn't really keep anything down but i was still constantly hungry. If you're body is saying that you are hungry then you are - i wouldn't say it was "in your head". You know yourself and your body better than your husbands friends so don't doubt yourself just because "they" thing it is too early.
I was constantly hungry in my first trimester. In the first part of my second trimester i was always eating, in the second part of my second trimester i had to make myself eat cause i was never really hungry. I am 28wks now and food is my favourite passtime again - and if i don't get food right then and there when i'm hungry i turn into a b*tch in a big way! lol
You will have many people telling you different things throughout your pregnancy - telling you whats right and whats not, how much weight you should have gained, how you should be feeling etc etc. Most mean well but don't take too much on board. Feel what you feel and follow your instinct ... after all - its your body and you know best.
Best of luck and congrats.
p.s - even if you were to use pregnancy as an excuse... who cares? Its the best excuse one could ever come up with! lol
Enjoy pregnancy - don't get bogged down by others!!

Ok, every BODY is different.
The first three months your body is changing so very much, ya know even your heart moves to give your baby room !
Listen to your body for the next nine months, not others. You are still working and doing everything else you did before AND your body is busy creating a new life, hell yes it is hungary work !!!!
Although bland, museli is a good one, you want to look for complex carbs to fill you up maybe have a bowl before bed. hopefully you will sleep for longer.
Try and stick to varied, healthy stuff and that will help you feel less tired and worn out later on.
This hunger will wear off and then come back on at the tail end of your pregnancy then you need to go little and often and again complex carbs.
Good luck.

His friends are GUYS, so they are probably ignorant.
I'm 34 weeks along now, and at first, yes, I was hungry a lot. It's the hormones. You probably also go to the bathroom a lot more and have weird hot spells in the middle of the night, too.
Your hormones will balance out around the beginning of your second trimester (around 14 weeks), then towards the end you'll just simply feel huge, even if you don't gain that much weight.
Don't listen to those guys. Unless they have "MD" behind their names, they are probably clueless.
