there is a town of Springfield in every state...and i was watching the Simpsons episode "Blame it on Lisa" today and in the episode a boy said 'I didn't know what state you live in," and Lisa said, "Well, its kind of a mystery, but if you look at the clues, you can figure it out."
and so i got curious!! what state is it?

They never say, and from the "clues" all you'll get is more confused....
it's obviously right on the ocean (episode where Homer takes Mr. Burns' yacht out to international waters, episode where Homer and Bart and Flanders are on a small boat out at sea, and more), but they must also be near desert (Homer and Lennie go to work in the oil fields). They have snow in winter, but rarely too cold. They have a very high mountain (Power Sauce Bars episode). They have climate and geography from just about every state, so there really isn't anything that would narrow it down to one specific place.....

My vote has been for New Jersey. while there have been several otehr good choices propsed, they have all been landlocked states and Springifeld is a coastal city (remember the episode where Homer had a party on Mr. Burns yacht and they had to get into international waters, beyond the 3 mile limit, to serve up the booze). Add that to the presence of people like Fat Tony the Mobster, mayor Quimby and his New England Accent and one or two other things and New Jersey fits the bill.

It seems like the creators of the Simpsons never wanted us to find out what state they live in. If I had to guess, I would say Illinois:) lol, who knows??

i love the simpsons ibut im not sure but in one of the eposoides marge says when shes on the phone and the guy ask what state she lives in she doesnt say but then muade (neds wife) comes in and marge says ohio maude so mabye its ohio
