There a number of issues with regard to human cloning. Would the clone have a soul? What would be their legal status? IF we can successfully create a human clone, what does that say about ALL religions and hte place of mankind in the scheme of things. What would be the psychological impact in the clone to know they are a clone? And those are just the EASY questions. Until all of the moreal and ethical questions can be ironed out to the satisfaction of enough people, the only human cloning work will have to continue to be done in secret. Using sub par facilities and money begged, borrowed and mostly stolen and embezzeled to keep working. Until Scientists, religionists and governments can reach an agreemnt, no matter how uneasy, as to the various imoplications, we will just have to wait and work in less than ideal surroundings.

Cloning of animals is a very intricate and expensive procedure and not the most suitable for dealing with starvation.

In recent decades we have bred animals that yield a greater amount of meat, milk etc and it's possible to feed a growing population from the same amount of stock. This doesn't benefit the starving of the world as they have no financial means and therefore can't buy the products.

It's the same with drugs for combatting malaria, tetanus etc, they're readily available and relatively cheap but there's no money and little political advantage to be earned by supplying them to the world's poorer nations.

There are already ways and means to solve world hunger but it takes effort from the developed nations. The cost of the Iraq war to date would be enough to feed every hungry child in the world for the next 13 years.

The question isn't to do with the number of animals, it is to do with resources and economics. It doesn't matter how many animals you could potentially make, if the food for the animals isn't there then they will starve to death, before they can be made into burgers.

However we produce more food than we need to feed the global population. The problem is that the economics of the situation are such that the surplus is thrown away rather than handed out.

You are a bit confused. Though a handful of certain animals have been cloned, such as Dolly the sheep, what you are proposing is not anywhere in the near future. But it is such a good question, instead of asking something selfish, you ask what can be done to feed the hungry! Excellent.

They haven't really been all that successful, if you look into the viability of the animals 5 years later. Perhaps a better way would be to look into non-animal sources of protein.

The problem isn't with the quantity of food in the world, its a matter of people being able to afford the food and the rest of us being able to get the food to them

Why do no longer human beings, end battling with one yet another and actually act like brothers and sisters and shield another? the respond to this question is this, for one to examine the thank you to shield others, one ought to first, have something to shield simply by fact if God did it fascinated by us, how egocentric and self based, might humanity grow to be?

The problem is not that there is not enough food for everyone to eat. It's that wealth (and therefore food) is not distributed evenly (or even close to evenly).
