NATURAL treatments

Before I use any prescription pills or over the counter medications, I try natural remedies first. (Cheaper and Safer) I have never had a vaginal yeast infection, but I have treated both of my daughters with garlic oil when they had thrush in their mouth.

GARLIC
Penicillin has one chemical constituent and that is Penicillin. Garlic has at least 35 constituents. They "potentiate, enhance, and mitigate each other's effects inside the human body." That's like taking 35 medications in one! Learn more about garlic here: http://www.bulkherbstore.com/GM
VAGINAL THRUSH TREATMENTS
GARLIC Douche: Blend 1 or 2 cloves of garlic in blender with 1 cup water. Strain and add enough water to make 1 quart of solution. Douche as usual.
ACIDOLPHILUS Douche or capsule inserted at night (can get capsules at Walmart and other drug stores)
COMFREY Tea Douche

THRUSH in MOUTH
* Prick garlic capsule and squeeze contents into the mouth
* Homemade Garlic Oil-Dip finger in garlic oil and swab baby's mouth with it, or use a dropper to put a drop on baby's tongue. Do not rinse immediately. Baby may not like the taste, but this will work. Do this as often as desired. (I have two girls under 3-this works!)

BTW-Sugar can feed yeast (thrush) so you may want to monitor your sugar intake as well.

OH-I don't know how I forgot this- You can also sit in a tub of water with Apple Cider Vinegar poured in it. My midwife recommended this for a friend once. This one is good, too, for children who get yeast from antibiotics.

Thrush is an imbalance of the natural bacteria in your vagina which then allows the yeast 'Candida albican' to become overgrown.

It is triggered by different things in different women because of their individual circumstances.

I answered a girl who wanted to know about tampons and thrush a while back. Have a quick read and see if it helps you more.

Click on my avatar/picture and under the 'ANSWERS' tab click for page 3 of my answers. Have a look at my answer for 'Do tampons cause thrush?' It is quite long and in depth without being too overwhelming. It was for a teenager.

I should point out that it may not have the answer for 'you' per se, but it may help you think of a cause that I don't mention.

Hope this helps you understand YOU a bit more.

PS - if you decide to use yoghurt make sure it's a yoghurt containing Lactobacillus bacteria.

Thrush is a yeast. I believe the most common is the candida albicans species. It causes thrush in the throat and mouth as well as vaginal yeast infections. There is some candida found naturally on your skin and in your vagina. Usually your natural bacteria keeps it under control, but if your body changes in some way, like pregnancy, a shift in pH balance, or taking an antibiotic, it can grow and become very unpleasant.

Yes, sometimes your period can upset the balance and cause a yeast infection. Ask your doctor for a Diflucan tablet. That should clear it right up.

Thrush is caused by an overgrowth of the candidia aka yeast bacteria in the mouth. Anytime the yeast bacteria takes over the good bacteria you wind up with a yeast infection be it thrush, vaginal yeast, ringworm, athletes foot, jock itch or any other place on the body. Yeast thrives in a warm moist enviroment. Many times being on an antibiotic causes the yeast to grow which is why you need to be sure to eat plenty of yogurt with live active cultures or take acidophillus capsules if you ever are on antibiotics.

Thrush is a infection that's common whether you are pregnant or not and I don't think it's related to periods. I think it can lie dormant and flare up under the right conditions. It's also passed from one person to another. You know when you have it as you get itchy and a yellowish discharge. It's easily treated - go to the chemist and ask for some stuff for it.

It is caused by an overgrowth of the yeast Candida which is normallypresent in small levels in the bodies of many women.
It can be triggered by many different things, such as using vaginal deodarants, wearing tight pants, non cotton knickers, pregnancy and using antibiotics.
Your period could be a cause if you do not change your pad or tampon often enough as Candida loves warm damp conditons.

It could have something to do with your toilet roll that can cause thrush or your skin may react against the sanitary towels / tampax you use. I can only use certain types of toilet roll.
