college is designed to take 4 years. while studying in undergrad, you typically take a variety of courses in several areas (history, biology, psychology, math). in graduate school, you typically focus on one area in great depth. a masters degree takes 2 years while a phd takes from 4-6 years

Graduate already has a Bachelor's degree and is going for a Master's. An undergrad is going for a Bachelor's degree.
