if you have a creamy looking muck on your rocker cover it is defenitely head gasket problems.Water floats on oil hence no white muck on your dip stick.check your water bottle for small deposits of oil.depending on engine size and mods it could be quite expensive to sort.Dont take it to a main dealer you will get ripped off.A new head gasket will only cost about 20 pounds but you will need some one to do it 4 you depending on your experience of engines

Water scum in the rocker cover does not always mean that the head gasket has gone it could be you only do very short journeys and engine does not get hot enough to burn of the moisture , Have the engine cleaned out with flushing oil the keep a check on your water level after that, a head gasket should not go on such low mileage

Hi
If the coolant level is going down after being topped up and you have mayo in the rocker cover then you have a head gasket or cylinder head issue.
You don't, however, mention when you last checked the coolant level.
Cheers

Sorry but your gasket is gone. If there is white muck that is perfect sign that oil and water are mixed. No muck on dipstick because oil is on higher pressure than coolant so oil is geting in water. No need to check replace it.

I really would be careful... My car - 92 supra - had sludge in the filler cap, sludge in the radiator, coolant was going down, and it developed a habit of only running on 5 cylinders on startup. I spent most of xmas on boxing day on it...AND IT WASN'T A BLOWN HEADGASKET ! your best bet is really a test on the coolant, as that other user said - certain chemicals will test for the acidic presence of combustion gasses in the coolant. I'm not saying it hasn't got a BHG, but make sure you're sure before paying someone £600 to fix it !

it might not be your head gasket, if you only use the car for short trips, the engine will not warm up enough and this will cause condensation to form in the rocker cover, check your radiator to see if there is an oily film on top of the water. If you are not sure take it to a reputable garage for them to check over.

take your car to garage they can do a simple test by using a special indicator into the coolant tank. if the head gasket has gone there will be a build up of gases in the coolant fluid. the other way they can test it is by doing a compression test on the engine block.

if your coolant is going down all the time, then i would say it is a head gasket.sometimes there is white smoke coming out the tailpipe, check that.it depends where the gasket is leaking.it could be leaking between cylinders and not going into the oil and if its leaking into the combustion chamber,it will go out the tailpipe and if its blown in the oil passage,it will go in the oil.

Not head gasket. Typical Vauxhall problem, the breather pipe is blocked, a mechanic will point it out to you.
